Head Coach Peter McGahey served for six seasons at CMU.
Central Michigan Athletics announced on Friday that the contract of head soccer coach Peter McGahey will not be renewed.
CMU was 7-12 overall, 5-6 in Mid-American Conference action this past season. The program missed the MAC Tournament for the second-straight year.
"I have done an extensive review of our program over the past week and determined it was necessary to make a change with our soccer leadership," Associate Vice President/Director of Athletics Michael Alford said. "I want to thank Peter for his efforts the past six seasons.
"We will soon begin a national search to identify a head coach who will put our student-athletes in a position to compete for championships. It is clear to me that with our recent facility additions and overall support, we truly have everything necessary to be a premier program in our league."
McGahey had a 50-55-12 overall record at CMU and was 31-29-7 in MAC games.
