Volko Joins CMU as a Senior Associate AD

Will manage revenue areas including CAF and ticketing
DJ Volko has joined Central Michigan Athletics as the Senior Associate Athletics Director of Revenue.

Volko will oversee the Chippewa Athletic Fund and athletic ticket operations along with managing relationships with IMG and corporate sponsorships. A primary focus will be to build relationships in the community and on-campus to generate revenue through ticket sales and fundraising.

"I am excited to welcome DJ into our department as he has a proven track record of significantly growing revenue throughout his career," Associate Vice President/Athletics Director Michael Alford said. "Our record fundraising from this past year is just the start as we continue to show our supporters the impact their contributions have on our student-athletes. We also want to build our ticket operations to offer the best possible service to our customers.

Volko comes to CMU from the Pac-12 Networks, where he has served as the senior director of partner services since 2012. He managed over 30 day-to-day partnerships for clients to generate over $11 mm in revenue for the Networks. Volko also oversaw the network's ticketing for the Pac-12 football championship game & the conference basketball tournaments.

Prior to his time with the Pac-12, Volko worked for 12 years in sales and marketing for two firms in the private sector. During that time, he oversaw the completion of a Coca-Cola showcasing center in preparation for the Olympic Games in Beijing.

In 2001-02, Volko worked as the director of corporate sales at Southern California and as the director of athletic marking and coporate sales at Cal State-Fullerton.

Volko earned his bachelor's degree in political science from California Berkeley and his master's in education from Louisville. He began his career at Louisville, working as an assistant in the Cardinal Athletic Fund.
