MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. – Central Michigan golf coach Jim Earle announced today that he has signed three standout players who comprise the Chippewas' 2020 recruiting class.
The trio comprises Rachel Kauflin of Milwaukee, Ashley Goh of Malaysia and MacKenzie Baustad of Calgary, Alberta, Can.
"We're very happy to welcome three outstanding young players who will be great additions to our program," said Earle, whose Chippewas posted top-five finishes in three of their five fall tournaments. Included in that fall performance was a first-place finish, the first in program history, at the Oakland Golden Grizzlies Invitational.
"Rachel Kauflin is one of the very best high school/junior golfers in the state of Wisconsin," Earle said. "She's an outstanding student and she's very dedicated to both her academics and her golf."
Goh is the "the No. 1-ranked player on the Malaysian National Team," Earle said. "It was very exciting for us to sign a player of her caliber, particularly one of the very best players out of a women's golf hotbed like Malaysia. It's an exciting step forward for this program."
"Mackenzie Baustad has had some very strong results in some very big events in Canada," Earle said. "I'm very excited to add one of Team Alberta's finest young players."
