CMU Football Adds Series with FIU

The two teams meet at CMU in 2021 and at FIU in 2024
MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. – Central Michigan Football announced a home-and-home series with FIU today, the first meeting between the two programs.

The series begins at CMU on Saturday, Sept. 25, 2021 with a return game in Miami, Fla., on Saturday, Sept. 7, 2024.

"As we prepare to head to South Florida this weekend for a game at Miami, it is clear what great fans we have in that area and this gives us another opportunity to play in front of those alums and supporters," Zyzelewski Family Associate Vice President/Director of Athletics Michael Alford. "It also brings another quality opponent to Kelly/Shorts stadium as we continue to build attractive home slates for our fans."Â

As part of this arrangement, CMU and FAU have mutually decided to move their series to a later date. Also, Central Michigan's game at LSU has moved to Saturday, Sept. 18, 2021.

The Chippewas also announced a game with FCS-opponent Robert Morris today, set for Saturday, Sept. 11, 2021. This will be the first meeting between the two teams.
