Rzentkowski, Paupore Lead Chippewas At Bowling Green

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – Adam Rzentkowski was fourth in the men's race and Emily Paupore was seventh in the women's race on Saturday to lead the Central Michigan cross country teams at the Falcon Invitational, hosted by Bowling Green.
The Central Michigan women finished seventh with 180 points. Nine teams comprised the field. The Chippewa men placed sixth (152) in the six-team field..
The Mid-American Conference Championships are scheduled for the same course on Saturday, Nov. 21.
"We weren't where we wanted to be as a team, but we know what we need to do at the MAC Championships in two weeks," CMU Director of Track & Field/Cross Country Jenny Swieton said. "I am proud of our kids because they were able to evaluate their performances with a level head and they know where they need to improve."
Also for CMU, Lauren Beckmann was 24th (22:49.7) in the 6K women's race; Haley Hegenauger was 67th (24:26.6); Alexa Davis was 69th (24:30.0); Anya Turner was 70th (24:30.9); Jelena Prescott was 73rd (24:40.2); Lauren MacDonald was 75th (24:52.7); Maddy Boyd was 76th (25:04.2); and Ana Garcia was 77th (25:10.0).
Toledo finished with 54 points to win the women's race. Miami (Ohio) was second with 63. Kailee Perry of Bowling Green won the race in 21:09.5.
Rzentkowski placed fourth in the men's 8K race in 25:01.9. Josh Park of Ohio was first in 24:47.8. Eastern Michigan placed first with 35 points, eight better than second-place Miami.
Also for the Chippewas in the men's race, Hunter Fougner was 38th (27:06.2); Owen Howard was 47th (27:41.2); Zach Sleeman finished 54th (28:19.0); and Ben Griffith placed 60th (29:56.8).
