MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. -- The Central Michigan lacrosse team will take on Butler on Sunday, Feb. 23 (noon) at the CMU Lacrosse/Soccer Complex.
Â
It is the home opener for the Chippewas, who opened the season a week ago with a 24-4 loss at No. 7 Notre Dame.
Â
"I think we'll have a good crowd," CMU coach Sara Tisdale said. "We're excited to be at home. There are few and far between opportunities to play at home this season, so we'll take full advantage of it."
Â
The Chippewas defeated Butler, 16-6, in Indianapolis last season.
Â
Last Time Out
Natalie Karlen had a goal and an assist in the loss to Notre Dame, while Jessica Schuchardt, Olivia Johnsen and Emma Hamilton scored one goal each.
Â
Hope Murray started the game in goal and logged 21 minutes; Sierra Savage played the final 38-plus minutes. Murray posted a .278 save percentage, while Savage finished at .214.
Â
"Our team played extremely composed, (and) very mindfully," Tisdale said. "I think we executed a lot of pieces. There are definitely things we could have done better, and to make that margin a little bit more narrow. … I know how much better that game made our team, regardless of the result."
