Broom Named Senior Associate AD for Revenue Generation

Michigan native joins the Chippewas from Tulane.
Central Michigan Athletics is excited to announce the addition of Garrett Broom as its Senior Associate Athletic Director for Revenue Generation.
"Excited to have Garrett and his family join our organization and community," Zyzlewski Family AVP/Athletics Director Michael Alford said. "He has outstanding experience at some top-level programs and knows what it takes to grow our Chippewa Athletic Fund and revenue-generation efforts. Having grown up in Michigan, he is very familiar with this area and he and his family are looking forward to returning to the state."
Broom will oversee all of Central Michigan Athletics revenue efforts including all operations of the ticket office, Chippewa Athletics Fund fundraising efforts, and serve as the liaison to the corporate sponsorship group, Learfield IMG College. He will also serve on the executive leadership team.
Broom comes to Central Michigan from Tulane University, where he worked for the past three years. He began at Tulane as the Assistant Athletic Director for Development in 2017 and was elevated to Associate AD for Development this past year. Broom oversaw all day-to-day operations for the Green Wave Club. He also led his team to securing over 100 major gifts consisting of $25,000 or more during his time at Tulane.
Broom served as the Director of Development at Wisconsin from 2014-16, working as a part of a team that raised more than $100 million during his time with the Badgers. Broom led the Forever Badgers Endowment Program that grew significantly during his tenure due to the $40 million Nicholas Matching Gift program that was completed in 2016.
Broom worked in the development offices at Ole Miss and Minnesota early in his career. He was the Assistant Director of Development with the Ole Miss Athletics Foundation from 2012-14 and served as the Development Assistant with the Golden Gopher Fund at Minnesota from 2011-12.
Broom, a native of Flushing, Mich., was a four-year letterwinner in soccer at Siena Heights University and earned his undergraduate degree in 2006. He earned a Master of Business Administration degree from Webber International University in 2011 while serving as a graduate assistant coach with the men's soccer program.
