Central Michigan Announces Game at Ford Field

The Chippewas will take on Western Michigan on Saturday, Oct. 17
Central Michigan Football announced its 2020 schedule today, highlighted by a game against Western Michigan at Ford Field in Detroit.
The Central Michigan University Chippewas take on the Broncos Saturday, Oct. 17, in what is a home game for CMU. Kickoff time and television broadcast plans will be announced at a later date.
"We are excited to bring a marquee game to Detroit, a critical area for the future of our university," said President Bob Davies. "This is an outstanding opportunity for us to enhance our engagement with and outreach to students, alumni and businesses in Southeast Michigan."
Michael Alford, Zyzelewski Family associate vice president/athletics director, said that CMU's Athletics Department is joining the university-wide effort to grow connections in this key region of the state.
"Ford Field has been the location of many great experiences for CMU Football, and this is an opportunity to create another iconic experience for our program and our university," Alford said. "CMU's continued success means creative and innovative thinking. Bringing this game — and the events surrounding it — to Detroit allows our athletics program to help engage thousands of people who are passionate about CMU."
The game will be CMU's 11th time playing at Ford Field, most recently in the Mid-American Conference championship game in December 2019.
"This is going to be a fantastic opportunity for our student-athletes to play in an awesome venue and for our fans to enjoy the great City of Detroit," Head Coach Jim McElwain said. "I know the passion and intensity both universities have for the rivalry will produce a fantastic environment on game day."
Ticket information
The game against Western Michigan is considered a Central Michigan home game, so the game is included in CMU's season ticket package and students will be offered a complimentary or discounted ticket. Premium seat holders, season ticket holders and Chippewa Club members have priority seating opportunities at Ford Field. CMU football season tickets start as low as a $60 per general admission season ticket and are on sale now.
Ticket prices for the game at Ford Field include sideline center reserved tickets, $40; sideline reserved, $25; lower endzone reserved, $15 and endzone reserved, $10.
