Indoors Invites: CMU's Targgart, Williams Headed To Albuquerque

MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. – It's official: Central Michigan's Nadia Williams and Logan Targgart are headed to the NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships.

The meet is scheduled for March 13-14 in Albuquerque, N.M. at the Albuquerque Convention Center.

Williams has qualified in the women's long jump; Targgart in the men's weight throw.

Williams, a senior from Mount Horeb, Wis., finished sixth last season in the long jump, earning First Team All-America honors. She went on to earn Second Team All-America honors in the long jump during the outdoor season.

Targgart, a senior from Coldwater, has qualified for the indoor championships for the first time. Williams will be seeded 10^th in her event, while Targgart will be seeded 13^th. Seedings are based on season-best performances. Sixteen athletes from across the nation qualify in each event.

The top eight finishers at the championships in each earn First Team All-America; those finishing ninth-16^th earn second-team honors.

Targgart and Williams won their respective events last weekend at the Mid-American Conference Championships in Akron.
