CMU Men Fall To League-Favorite Bowling Green

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – On the good side, the Central Michigan men's basketball doesn't have long to wait for another crack at Bowling Green.
Six Falcons scored in double figures on Tuesday as Bowling Green handed CMU a 90-69 Mid-American Conference men's basketball loss at the Falcons' Stroh Center.
The loss left CMU 5-5, 1-2 MAC. The Falcons, picked to win the conference in the preseason poll, are 8-2, 4-0.
The teams are slated to meet on Saturday (4:30 p.m.) in Mount Pleasant.
How It Happened
The Chippewas never led as Bowling Green used a 12-0 run in building a 36-22 lead with under five minutes to play in the first half.
CMU never got its deficit under double digits after that and trailed by as many as 25 points late in the second half.
Leaders
Meikkel Murray scored 16 points, Caleb Huffman and Travon Broadway Jr. had 13 each, and Devontae Lane added 10 for CMU.
Malik Muhammad, a 6-foot-9 junior in his first season at CMU after transferring from East Los Angeles College, hauled down a career-high 10 rebounds in his first start as a Chippewa.
Senior guard Justin Turner scored 17 points to lead a balanced Bowling Green attack.
