Raimann Named All-America By Sporting News

MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. – Central Michigan football player Bernhard Raimann was named to the Sporting News All-America Second Team on Tuesday.
It is the latest in an ever-growing list of postseason individual awards for Raimann, a junior offensive tackle and a native of Steinbrunn, Austria.
Earlier this week, Raimann was named to the Pro Football Focus All-America Team, an honor that followed his selection as the PFF Mid-American Conference Offensive Player of the Year.
He was also named to the Senior Bowl All-American team and is scheduled to play in the game, which is scheduled for Feb. 5, 2022 in Mobile, Ala.
Raimann, who came to CMU as a tight end in 2018, moved to offensive tackle before the 2020 season and evolved into a top professional prospect who is projected as a first-round pick in the NFL draft.
He was named First Team All-MAC and earned a spot on the College Sports Information Directors of America Academic All-District squad. That distinction makes Raimann eligible for Academic All-America honors.
He earned a bachelor of science degree with a double major in actuarial science and statistics, compiling a 3.80 grade point average. He is now working toward a Master's of Science in Administration.
Raimann is a two-time Academic All-MAC honoree who last spring received the prestigious MAC Medal of Excellence. He is a semifinalist for the William V. Campbell Trophy, which goes to an individual as the best football scholar-athlete in the nation for his combined academic success, football performance and exemplary leadership.
