Chippewas Earn Academic Honors

MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. – The Central Michigan men's and women's cross country teams were named All-Academic for the 2020 season by the United States Track & Field Cross Country Coaches Association.
The Chippewa women carry a 3.766 cumulative grade point average; the Chippewa men, 3.276. Teams meeting a 3.0 GPA qualify for the honor.
It marks the 10th consecutive season and the 16th time since 2004 that the CMU women have been so honored. Their 3.766 GPA ranks 16th among the 255 teams from across the nation so honored. The Chippewa men have earned the honor for nine-consecutive years.
"An award like this shows the hard work and dedication these athletes put forth in being true scholar-athletes," CMU Director of Track Field/Cross Country Jenny Swieton said. "As a coach, I am equally proud of what they do in the classroom as I am of what they do on the course."
