8 Chippewas Named To Academic All-MAC Soccer Team

MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. – Eight Central Michigan soccer players earned Academic All-Mid-American Conference honors for the 2021 spring season.
The eight Chippewas, along with their year, hometown, grade point average and major, are:
• Katie Coleman, junior, Canton, 4.00, information systems;
• Amanda Britain, senior, 3.92, Wolverine Lake, marketing;
• Chesney Wargo, junior, 3.77, Aurora, Ill., exercise science: kinesiology;
• Maria Kaschalk, senior, 3.72, Macomb, biomedical, cellular and molecular biology;
• Maddie West, redshirt junior, 3.60, Crystal Lake, Ill., English;
• Sheila Magnan, senior, 3.42, Brighton, accounting;
• Natalie Belsito, senior, 3.41, Ada, integrated science;
• Lauren DeBeau, sophomore, 3.23, Shelby Township, general management
It marks the third consecutive year that Britain and Magnan have been named to the Academic All-MAC team; it is the second consecutive year for Coleman and Kaschalk.
To qualify for the honor, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.20 cumulative GPA and have participated in 50 percent or more of her team's games.
