Soccer Announces 2021 Fall Schedule

MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. -- The Central Michigan soccer program has released its schedule for the 2021 fall season. Â
After posting a 5-4 mark in the spring against a schedule that featured only Mid-American Conference opponents, the Chippewas will open their traditional fall slate with an exhibition match against Atlantic Coast Conference power Virginia on Wednesday, Aug. 11 in Maple City, Mich.
Following its matchup with the Cavaliers, CMU will begin the regular season on the road, traveling to Milwaukee, Wis. to meet Marquette. A pair of contests against in-state foes Michigan State (Aug. 26) and Michigan (Aug. 29) ensue.
The Chippewas will finish nonconference play at home versus Morehead State (Sept. 3) and on the road at IUPUI (Sept. 9) and Eastern Illinois (Sept. 12).
MAC competition is set to kick off on Sept. 23 when Central Michigan visits Miami (Ohio).
The Chippewas will host conference opponents Ball State (Sept. 26), Northern Illinois (Sept. 30), Akron (Oct. 7), Bowling Green (Oct. 17) and Ohio (Oct. 24) at the CMU Soccer Complex.
In addition to the RedHawks, CMU faces Western Michigan (Oct. 3), Buffalo (Oct. 10), Toledo (Oct. 14), Kent State (Oct. 21) and Eastern Michigan (Oct. 28) on the road.
The 2021 Mid-American Conference Tournament begins on Oct. 31 with quarterfinal action on campus sites. The semifinals (Nov. 4) and final (Nov. 7) will be hosted by the No. 1 overall seed in the final conference regular season standings.
