Bergelin Named MAC Scholar-Athlete Of The Week

MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. – Central Michigan wrestler Brock Bergelin has been named the Mid-American Conference Male Scholar-Athlete of the Week.
Bergelin, a senior graduate student from Denmark, Wis., won all three of his matches in helping lead the Chippewas to a 3-0 weekend including two wins over Mid-American Conference opponents and a victory over 24th-ranked South Dakota State.
Bergelin, wrestling at 125 pounds, was dominant on the weekend, posting a 6-0 win over Northern Illinois, a 13-2 major-decision victory over SIU Edwardsville, and a pin in 3:32 against South Dakota State. The three wins lifted Bergelin's season record to 14-7.
Bergelin, who is working toward a master's of business administration and carries a 3.90 grade point average, has won five of his last six matches, scoring bonus points in three of those matches.
