Munson Earns MAC Wrestler of the Week Award

MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. – Central Michigan's Corbyn Munson has been named the Mid-American Conference Wrestler of the Week after his performance in the Chippewas' dual meet with North Carolina State and in the Army Black Knight Invitational.
Munson, a senior from Chelsea who was ranked 33rd nationally at 157 pounds, went 4-2 in the two events.
He opened the weekend with a monumental 4-1 upset of No. 6-ranked Ed Scott of North Carolina State and then closed the weekend with a solid fourth-place finish at the Black Knight Invitational.
Munson opened the Army Black Knight Invitational with a first-period pin and then followed with a 12-2 major-decision victory. He fell into the elimination bracket with a 3-1 loss to 30th-ranked Terrell Barraclough of Penn State.
Munson advanced to the third-place match with a no-contest victory and then bowed to Army's Nate Lukez, who is ranked 31st nationally, 3-1.
