NEW ORLEANS – The Central Michigan wrestling team closed the Journeyman Collegiate Duals at the New Orleans Convention Center on Tuesday with a 39-10 loss to Oregon State.
The Chippewas (0-4) opened the event on Monday with a 28-7 loss to No. 21 North Carolina and a 50-3 loss to top-ranked Penn State, the defending national champion.
CMU is scheduled to compete in the Midlands Championships on Dec. 29-30 in Hoffman Estates, Ill.
While the Beavers (3-4) entered the Collegiate Duals unranked, their lineup on Tuesday featured seven wrestlers who are ranked nationally by Intermat, including 125-pounder Brandon Kaylor and 197-pounder Tanner Harvey, both of whom are ranked 10th.
The Chippewa victories came from Corbyn Munson (157) and Bryan Caves (285).
