EAST LANSING, Mich. β One bonus point made all the difference on Friday as the Central Michigan wrestling team fell to Michigan State, 19-17, in a nonconference dual at the Spartans' Jenison Field House.

The loss ended CMU's dual-meet win streak at 11. The Chippewas (12-3), who are ranked 19th in the InterMat dual meet poll, are scheduled to close the regular season on Sunday (2 p.m.) with a dual against third-ranked Michigan (11-1) at McGuirk Arena. The Chippewas will celebrate Senior Day prior to the meet.

MSU, which is ranked 21st, is 10-4.

The 10 matches were an even 5-5 split on Friday. CMU's Matt Stencel, who is ranked eighth nationally by InterMat, recorded a pin at 285 pounds; MSU's Layne Malczewski, who is ranked 22nd, posted a pin at 184.

The difference came in the 133-pound match, where MSU's seventh-ranked Rayvon Foley posted a 15-4 major decision victory, bringing the Spartans four team points. CMU had a one-point deduction for unsportsmanlike conduct after the match at 157.

CMU got decision victories from 12th-ranked Dresden Simon (141), Corbyn Munson (149), Tracy Hubbard (165) and Bret Fedewa (174).

Michigan State's other wins came from Tristan Lujan (125), Chase Saldate (157) and Cameron Caffey (197). The wins for Lujan and the 17th-ranked Saldate came by one point.
