Thirteen Football Players Earn Academic All-MAC Honors

Robi Stuart earns Academic All-MAC award for a school-record fifth year; Cade Klimczak is a three-time award-winner, while seven other players earn the honor for the second straight year.
MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich.—Twelve Central Michigan football players were named to the Academic-All-Mid-American Conference team for the 2023 season, the league announced this morning.
Senior defensive lineman Robi Stuart earned the honor for a school-record fifth year, while junior offensive lineman Cade Klimczak earned the honor for a third year. Seven student-athletes—sophomore running back Christian Brown, sophomore linebacker Dakota Cochran, sophomore offensive lineman Davis Heinzen, junior linebacker Kyle Moretti, junior offensive lineman Brayden Swartout, sophomore Jake Tafelski, and sophomore tight end Marcus Young—are two time honorees.
The Academic All-MAC honor is for a student-athlete who has excelled in athletics and academics. To qualify, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.20 cumulative GPA and have participated in at least 50 percent of the contests for that particular sport.
The 13 Chippewas, along with their position, year, hometown, grade point average and major.:
