CMU Announces Men's Basketball Promotions Schedule

MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. – Central Michigan's 2023-24 Men's Basketball schedule features 13 home games at McGuirk Arena. Each game will have a promotional theme. Here is a look at respective themes for each game:
Wednesday, Dec. 6 vs. Valparaiso – Community Night (7 p.m. tipoff)
Central Michigan will host Valparaiso for Community Night, where Mount Pleasant residents can show their ID to receive discounted tickets, and a community member/local youth choir will perform the National Anthem. The event will include basketball bingo cards distributed at Fan Central, with prizes going to the first 15 winners. There will also be a Toys for Tots collection, all donations will be delivered to Isabella County Toys for Tots.

Thursday, Dec. 21 vs. Detroit Mercy – Holiday Classics Night (7 p.m. tipoff)
Central Michigan will host Detroit Mercy for Holiday Classics Night, which will include cutouts of popular holiday characters placed around the McGuirk Arena concourse, holiday crafts for kids, pre-game movie for kids, and CMU basketball holiday mug for the first 500 fans. There will also be a post-game autograph signing session.
Tuesday, Jan. 2 vs. Buffalo – Conference Opener (7 p.m. tipoff)
Central Michigan will host Buffalo for the Mid-American Conference home and conference opener, where fans can attend to receive 2023 CMU basketball rally towels.
Saturday, Jan. 13 vs. Kent State – Rubber Ducky Day (2 p.m. tipoff)
Central Michigan will host Kent State for Rubber Ducky Day. For National Rubber Ducky Day, fans are encouraged to bring rubber duckies in in an attempt to break the Guinness World Record of 5,239 unique rubber ducks; Guinness World Record officials will be in attendance for verification. Fans who bring 10 or more ducks will receive a specialty t-shirt. There will also be a commemorative CMU rubber duck give away post-game as well as an autograph signing session.
Friday, Jan. 19 vs. Toledo – Youth Sports Night (7 p.m. tipoff)
Central Michigan will host Toledo for Youth Sports Night, where kids who attend in a jersey will receive free or discounted admission. There will be games and inflatables around the concourse as well as a pom pom giveaway.
Tuesday, Jan. 23 vs. Miami (OH) – Hawkins Night [Stranger Things] (7 p.m. tipoff)
Central Michigan will host Miami (OH) for Hawkins Night, a Stranger Things-themed game. There will be tie-dye specialty t-shirts available for purchase to fans.
Tuesday, Jan. 30 vs. Northern Illinois – Maroon & Gold Game / Traditions Day (7 p.m. tipoff)
Central Michigan will host Northern Illinois for a Maroon and Gold game on Traditions Day, where fans are encouraged to show their pride by wearing maroon and gold. There will be a maroon and gold pom pom giveaway and other student-athletes are encouraged to attend. At halftime, the Saginaw Chippewa Indian Tribe will perform a drum ceremony to represent Traditions Day.

Tuesday, Feb. 20 vs. Bowling Green – International Students Night (7 p.m. tipoff)
Central Michigan will host Bowling Green for International Students Night, a night dedicated to recognizing international students on campus. There will be an opportunity for cultural and ethnic RSOs to set up stations in the events center atrium upon entrance to the arena. There will also be facts about international student enrollment and accomplishments at CMU, with a student-athlete flag parade at halftime. Potential event in the Upper Club Lounge.
Tuesday, Feb. 27 vs. Ball State – Witches & Wizards Night [Harry Potter] (7 p.m. tipoff)
Central Michigan will host Ball State for Witches & Wizards Night, a Harry Potter-themed game. Each student class standing will be designated a house, and attendees of the class that brings the most people take home a prize.
Friday, March 8 vs. Eastern Michigan – Senior Day (7 p.m. tipoff)
Central Michigan will host Eastern Michigan for their final home game of the season on Senior Day. This will be the last home game for the Chippewas, and there will be a ceremony following the end of the game to honor the seniors.
