
Chippewa Lacrosse Schedule Announced, Gauntlet Non-Conference Slate Awaits

Visits to Northwestern (March 3), Notre Dame (Feb. 11) and Michigan (March 9) headline 17-game schedule; Mid-American title defense begins March 17 against Detroit Mercy
MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. — Central Michigan Lacrosse announced its full 17-game schedule for the 2024 season Wednesday afternoon.
The Chippewas are slated to battle 2023 national champion Northwestern (March 3) along with three more programs ranked in the final Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) top 25 poll from 2023: at No. 8 Notre Dame (Feb. 11), at No. 12 Michigan (March 9) and at No. 23 Marquette (March 22).

The 11-game non-conference schedule features five teams with a combined 13 appearances in the NCAA tournament since 2019, led by four straight NCAA semifinal appearances for Northwestern. Notre Dame qualified each of the last four tournaments as well, Michigan in three of the last four.

Central Michigan begins its quest for a third straight Mid-American Conference championships March 17 against Detroit Mercy, also hosting Robert Morris (April 7) and Akron (April 21) while visiting Youngstown State (March 31), Eastern Michigan (April 14) and Kent State (April 27) for the season finale.

The 2024 home schedule features two first-time meetings, Canisius and Colorado; Canisius will open the CMU Lacrosse Complex Feb. 25 (11 a.m.), followed by Colorado, another recent NCAA tournament qualifier, Feb. 29 (3 p.m.). The final non-conference home game features Lindenwood on March 15 (2 p.m.).

Central Michigan Lacrosse enters the 2024 season as the back-to-back reigning champion of the Mid-American Conference tournament to go along with the 2022 regular season league title. The Chippewas have rendered a 21-6 record in conference play since the MAC began sponsorship of a women's lacrosse championship in 2021.
