Seven Chippewas Named Soccer Academic All-MAC

The group pushes CMU Soccer over 150 total selections since 2002
CLEVELAND — Central Michigan Soccer landed seven members on the 2023 Academic All-Mid-American Conference listing Wednesday afternoon, to push the program to 156 total selections for the annual honor since 2002.
Elizabeth Chlystun (Zionsville, Ind. / Zionsville) and Matilda Melin (Örnsköldsvik, Sweden / Nolaskolan) mark their third respective selections in their careers, the 23rd and 24th in program history to achieve the feat three times.
Jaelyn Dobrowolski (Traverse City, Mich. / TC West), Allison LaPoint (Royal Oak, Mich. / Shrine Catholic) and Ashley Scesniak (Hoffman Estates, Ill. / William Fremd) each marked their second Academic All-MAC nod for 68 different players in program history to reach the listing multiple times.
Kerry Northcott (Cottleville, Mo. / Incarnate Word Acad.) and Lauren Walker (Essexville, Mich. / Garber) become the 85th and 86th different players to make the Academic All-MAC release, marking the 153rd and 154th selections.
To qualify for Academic All-MAC status, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.20 cumulative GPA and have participated in at least 50 percent of contests in the 2023 season. First-year members of the team, as freshmen or incoming transfers are not eligible.
Prior to Central Michigan, Claudia Muessig (Paw Paw, Mich. / Paw Paw) and Jocelin Zimmerer (Evergreen, Colo. / Evergreen) had been named Academic All-MAC at Northern Illinois (2021, 2022) and Miami (2022), respectively, though both were in their first season as Chippewas in 2023 after transferring to CMU.
