MAC Football Kickoff Scheduled for July 20 in Detroit

Annual event and media day will be held at historic Fox Theater in downtown Detroit on Thursday, July 20.
CLEVELAND, Ohio—The Mid-American Conference will host its annual 2023 Football Kickoff event at Detroit's historic Fox Theater on Wednesday and Thursday, July 19-20, the league announced Monday morning. The media day portion will take place on Thursday, July 20 at 9 a.m. ET/8 a.m. CT to 1:30 p.m. ET/12:30 p.m. CT.
The MAC Football Kickoff launches the 2023 season, which begins on Saturday, August 26 and concludes with the MAC Football Championship Game at Ford Field in Detroit on Saturday, Dec. 2.
CMU Head Coach Jim McElwain and two student-athletes will travel to Detroit for the event. The event will also feature MAC Commissioner Dr. Jon Steinbrecher and will be streamed live in ESPN+.
Central Michigan opens its 2023 football season at Michigan State on Friday, Sept. 1. The New Hampshire game on Saturday, Sept. 9 marks CMU's home opener. Click here to access the schedule. Central Michigan and the Mid-American Conference announced kickoff times and television designations for eight of CMU's 12 games last week. Four Chippewas contests are still to be announced.

CMU non conference road game tickets, which includes games at Michigan State, Notre Dame, and South Alabama went on sale in late April. Details to request tickets are posted on www.cmuchippewas.com or CMU's Ticket Central page. Priority will go to Chippewa Athletic Fund members.
