Sixteen Cross Country Student-Athletes Honored as Academic All-MAC

12 of 16 named multi-year recipients; seven men's cross country, nine women's country student-athletes awarded
CLEVELAND, Ohio — The Mid-American Conference has announced the Academic All-MAC honorees for the 2024 Men's and Women's Cross Country Seasons, the league announced on Friday.
Central Michigan has 16 honorees, with seven representing from the Men's Cross Country squad and nine from the women's team.
To qualify for the honor, a field hockey student-athlete who has completed at least one full year of residence at their competing institution must have at least a 3.20 cumulative grade-point average and have participated in at least 50 percent of their team's completed contests that season.
12 of the 16 honored student-athletes are multi-year winners. All seven Men's Cross Country recipients are at least two-time recipients, while it is the third consecutive season earning Academic All-MAC honors for senior Carson White.
For the CMU women, fifth-year seniors Natalie Newcombe, Emily Paupore and Jelena Prescott are now four-time honorees. It is the second year that Jessie Gibbins and Kate Jenkins have received the honor.
