Mrakitsch Earns Weekly MAC Award

MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. -- Central Michigan's Adam Mrakitsch was named the Mid-American Conference co-Pitcher of the Week on Monday after his performance on Friday in a 3-2 loss at Miami (Ohio).

Mrakitsch, a junior left-hander from Howell, matched his career high with 11 strikeouts in tossing eight shutout innings. He walked just two and scattered seven hits.

He did not factor in the decision as Miami scored three runs in the bottom of the ninth to seize a 3-2 victory.

Mrakitsch shared the award with Toledo right-hander Jackson Bergman.
