
Central Michigan Announces 2024 Football Schedule

Chippewas to host six home games in 2024: season opener vs. Central Connecticut State (Thursday, Aug. 29), Ball State (Sept. 21), San Diego State (Sept. 28), Homecoming Game vs. Ohio (Oct. 12), Bowling Green (Nov. 5), and Western Michigan (Nov. 19); Play road games at Florida International (Sept. 7), at Illinois (Sept. 14), at Eastern Michigan (Oct. 19), at Miami, Ohio (Oct. 26), at Toledo (Nov. 12), and at Northern Illinois (Nov. 30).
2024 Central Michigan Football season tickets will go on sale on Monday, March 18 at 10 a.m. Tickets can be purchased or renewed through Ticket Central at cmuchippewas.com or by calling the CMU Athletics Ticket Office at (989) 774-3045. Lock in your tickets for the best seats at the best value. More details on season ticket renewals will be e-mailed out to season ticket holders over the next week.
Year six of the Jim McElwain Era at CMU will feature six home games at Kramer/Deromedi Field at Kelly/Shorts Stadium. Central Michigan will open its season against Football Championship Subdivision opponent Central Connecticut State on Thursday, Aug. 29. CMU and CCSU officials moved the date to Aug. 29 in advance of the Labor Day holiday weekend. Other Chippewas home games include the MAC opener against Ball State (Saturday, Sept. 21), San Diego State (Saturday, Sept. 28), the 2024 Homecoming Game vs. Ohio (Saturday, Oct. 12), Bowling Green (Tuesday, Nov. 5), and rival Western Michigan (Tuesday, Nov. 19).
Central Michigan will also play six road contests in 2024. The Chippewas travel to Florida International (Saturday, Sept. 7), play at Big Ten foe Illinois (Saturday, Sept. 14), then play four MAC away games including at Eastern Michigan (Saturday, Oct. 19), at Miami, Ohio (Saturday, Oct. 26), at Toledo (Tuesday, Nov. 12), and at Northern Illinois (after Thanksgiving on Saturday, Nov. 30).
Eastern Michigan and Western Michigan were announced as Central Michigan's "protected opponents" on January 25. The Chippewas will play both EMU and WMU each year on a home/road rotating basis. The Chippewas will begin their season with eight consecutive Saturday games, followed by three mid-week MACtion games.
CMU will play three straight home games between Sept. 21-Oct. 12. The last time the Chippewas played three straight home games was in 2018.

Six of the Chippewas' 2024 opponents played in bowl games last season: Bowling Green (Quick Lane Bowl), Eastern Michigan (68 Ventures Bowl), Miami (OH) (Cure Bowl), Northern Illinois (Camellia Bowl), Ohio (Myrtle Beach Bowl), and Toledo (Barstool Arizona Bowl).
Central Michigan's NFL Pro Day is scheduled for March 12 at the Indoor Athletic Center's Turf Bay. CMU opens spring practice on Wednesday, March 20. A promotional schedule will be announced later in the spring.
