2024 Field Hockey Schedule Announced

Chippewas host seven matchups, including MSU Scrimmage, in full 18-game slate
MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. — Central Michigan Field Hockey's 2024 schedule will feature an 18-game slate, seven of which are to be hosted at Cristy Freese Field, the program announced on Wednesday.
CMU's nonleague slate includes Big Ten opponents Michigan, Michigan State and Ohio State, scheduled evenly through the season's span, as well as a trip to the northeast U.S. and Saint Louis ahead of Mid-American Conference play.
For the fourth consecutive year, the program will host a scrimmage against Michigan State ahead of the season's start, taking place on Tuesday, Aug. 20 (1 p.m.) at Cristy Freese Field. A school supply drive will be hosted to donate to schools in the Mount Pleasant area. The Chippewas host the Spartans again in a regular season game on Oct. 13, which will honor CMU's seven seniors.
The Chippewas officially open the season on the road on Aug. 30 at Saint Louis, taking on the Billikens at the SportPort International. CMU will play the venue again in a neutral site, non-league game with MAC competitor Bellarmine (Aug 31).
A three-game slate will highlight CMU's venture to the northeast in early September, beginning with a neutral game against Stonehill at Northeastern's Dedham Field (Sept. 4).
In a neutral site game at Maine, the Chippewas play Hofstra (Sept. 7) before competing against Maine on its home field (Sept. 8).
CMU hosts Colgate (Sept. 13) for its first home game of the regular season, which the Chippewas defeated, 3-2, in the opening game of the 2023 season. The game will honor Suicide Prevention Week alongside other CMU home events, which is from Sept. 8-14.
In the first of the Big Ten opponents, the Chippewas take on Michigan (Sept. 15) at Phyllis Ocker Field before returning home to open MAC play.

On the road, CMU takes on MAC opponents James Madison (Sept. 27) and 2023 MAC Regular Season Champion Appalachian State (Sept. 29), Kent State (Oct. 18), and will close regular season conference play at Ohio (Nov. 1).
The Chippewas will celebrate Senior Day on Oct. 13 against MSU at Cristy Freese Field, honoring the programs seven seniors.

In the five-seed tournament, the fourth and fifth seeded teams will compete on Nov. 6, and the winner will play the highest seeded team on Nov. 7.
