Things to Know About Saturday's Toilet Paper Toss/White Out

MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich.—Central Michigan will host its third consecutive Toilet Paper Toss/White Out when the Chippewas take on rival Western Michigan on Saturday evening at 7 p.m. at McGuirk Arena. For all fans, here is what you need to know along with a list of events and reminders for everyone:
- New head football coach Matt Drinkall will address the crowd at halftime. Drinkall was hired as CMU's football coach on Dec. 9 and was introduced to the CMU community in a Dec. 10 Welcome Event. Chippewas fans, remain in your seats to hear what he has to say!
- Former All-MAC basketball player Derek Boldon (1982-85) will participate in the Toilet Paper Toss along with President Neil MacKinnon. In his four-year, 107-game career at center, Boldon scored 1,127 points, grabbed 534 rebounds, and converted 57.4 percent of his field goals (448-780). He currently ranks No. 21 in school history in career points scored and No. 3 in career field goal percentage. Boldon holds CMU's single-season field goal percentage record after he made 63.4 percent of his shots in 1983-84, a mark that ranked No. 2 in the nation that season. He averaged 15.2 points and 6.1 rebounds as a senior in 1984-85 and 14.2 points and 6.0 rebounds as a junior in 1983-84. Boldon played all four seasons for head coach Dick Parfitt. After his career at CMU, Boldon went on to play professionally in Ireland, Belgium, and Argentina.
- The famous Detroit Pistons Extreme Team will perform at halftime following Coach Drinkall's speech. Featured numerous times on ESPN SportsCenter, the Extreme Team is a group of high-flying hoopers who dunk and flip off of trampolines. Stay in your seats for a spectacular halftime show.
- New volleyball coach Arielle Wilson will be introduced to the crowd in the second half.
- Buffalo Wild Wings will provide dinner and wings to the first 250 students through the doors. Buffalo Wild Wings will be giving away prizes and gift cards to students and fans throughout pregame and the first half.
- Texas Roadhouse will have a table on the concourse where fans can receive coupons, gift cards and other items.
- If you can't make it to McGuirk Arena on Saturday night, catch the live television broadcast on ESPN+. The live broadcast will begin at 6:45 p.m. ET with Adam Jaksa and Matt DeVries hosting a 15-minute pre-game show. Fans will be able to watch the Toilet Paper Toss live and CMU athletic director Amy Folan will be interviewed at 6:50 p.m. during the pre-game show. At halftime, new football coach Matt Drinkall will be interviewed.
- The game is designated as a "White Out." Fans are encouraged to wear white shirts and will have the opportunity to participate in the previously nationally known CMU tradition of throwing toilet paper rolls on the playing floor. A time for the simultaneous pre-game toss will be announced at a later time. White pompoms and retractable banners will be distributed in the arena. Toilet paper will be furnished for all fans as rolls will be distributed upon entrance. After the throw, all toilet paper will be recycled.
- A limited number of general admission tickets are still available for the event. Tickets are $22 for upper bowl reserved, and $15 for general admission bleacher tickets. Groups of 10 or more can buy tickets at a discounted rate of $8 each for general admission bleacher tickets. For the second consecutive year, limited Upper Club Lounge tickets are available for $75 each, which includes dinner. A cash bar featuring beer, wine, and soft drinks is also available for purchase in the Upper Club Lounge. - Single-game parking passes for Toilet Paper Toss are also for sale in lot 62W and 62E and available for purchase in advance either online at www.cmuchippewas.com or stopping by Ticket Central or by calling Ticket Central at 989-774-3045. Parking passes are $10 each plus fees. Passes bought in advance will be mailed out if ordered online or over the phone. Please note: parking pass prices may increase as we get closer to game day and on game day itself. Free parking is available in Lot 64.
