Sapia scores in the 82nd minute; Borgman tallies six saves, five in first half

KALAMAZOO, Mich. — Central Michigan Soccer fell, 3-1, at Mid-American Conference frontrunner Western Michigan, 3-1, Sunday at the WMU Soccer Complex.

Gabriella Sapia (Livonia, Mich. / Stevenson) became the sixth different Chippewa to find the back of the net this season, scoring from the left corner of the 18' in the 82^nd minute, set up by Rachel Jackson (Bloomfield Hills, Mich. / Detroit Country Day).

Brylee Borgman (Norton Shores, Mich. / Mona Shores) tallied six saves in her 10^th start of the season, five in the first half. Transfer senior Taylor Primack (Lindenhurst, Ill. / Lindenhurst) relieved Borgman for two saves in the final six minutes.

CMU Soccer hosts Eastern Michigan Wednesday (Oct. 29; 3 p.m. ET) to close out the 2025 regular season.

Through Sunday's result, Western Michigan clinched a share of the 2025 MAC Regular Season Championship. The Broncos will battle Buffalo Wednesday to determine the No. 1 seed in the upcoming MAC Tournament in Columbus, Ohio.
