Cross Country, Paupore honored as USTFCCCA Academic All-American

Paupore recognized as two-year honoree
NEW ORLEANS, La. — Central Michigan Men's and Women's Cross Country, alongside Emily Paupore as an individual, have earned United States Track and Field/Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-Academic honors, the organization announced on Jan. 30.
Paupore, a senior from Negaunee, Mich. ran all the way to the 2024 NCAA Cross Country National Championships this fall, having sealed her bid with an outstanding fourth-place finish at the NCAA Great Lakes Regional in Norton, Ohio. She finished third at the 2024 Mid-American Conference Cross Country Championships in November.
Paupore, who is completing her degree in Elementary Education (PK-6), maintains a 3.96 cumulative GPA and is now a two-time USTFCCCA All-Academic honoree.
CMU honored 16 student-athletes as Academic All-MAC in December for the 2024 Cross Country season. As a team, the CMU men posted a 3.67 semester GPA in Fall 2024 with three student-athletes maintaining a 4.0 GPA. Women's Cross Country finished with a 3.62 semester GPA with eight student-athletes maintaining a 4.0.
In order for a team to qualify for All-Academic honors, teams must have a 3.0 cumulative GPA, including the most recent grading period. In order for an individual athlete to attain All-Academic honors, the student-athlete must have a cumulative GPA of 3.25 including the most recent grading period and have finished within the top 25 at the NCAA Regional Championships or as an All-American at the NCAA Championships.
