Central Michigan Football to Play New Mexico in Two-Game Series

Central Michigan will play at New Mexico on Sept. 5, 2026; Chippewas to host New Mexico in Mount Pleasant on Sept. 8, 2029.
MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich.—Central Michigan Football has scheduled a two-game home-and-home series against New Mexico in both 2026 and 2029, Zyzelewski Family Vice President/Director of Athletics Amy Folan announced on Friday morning.
Central Michigan will travel to Albuquerque, N.M. to play at New Mexico on September 5, 2026. The Chippewas will host New Mexico for the return trip on Saturday, September 8, 2029.
Central Michigan opens its 2025 football season at San Jose State on Thursday, August 28. The Chippewas will play five home games, including four on Saturdays and play seven in-state games including at Michigan (Sept. 13) and at Western Michigan (Nov. 1).
