Track & Field Pockets Handful of PRs in Day Trip to Michigan

Rush’s 200m, Risner’s shot put lead list of five personal-bests for CMU in the Len Paddock Open
ANN ARBOR, Mich. — Central Michigan Track & Field took on the single-day Len Paddock open at Michigan Friday afternoon to tune up for next weekend's Mid-American Conference Championships.

Senior Kaitlynn Rush completed the 200-meter in 24.56 seconds to knock nearly four tenths of a second off of her personal best and slot into the 18th spot in the conference. Her 11.76-second 100-meter attempt at the Bobcat Invitational still stands 10th in the MAC. Rush finished fourth in both events in the meet.

Ereka Risner and Gracie Merrick finished seventh in the shot put and discus, respectively. Risner's personal-best 13.54-meter heave in shot put made her leap to 12th in the conference; Merrick came within two feet of her season-best fling which remains 16th.

Jessie Gibbins took home silver in the 1,500-meter event with a 4:42.15 as CMU's top placer.
Freshmen Ciara Rosenzweig and Lois Creasey each improved on season-bests to remain on the top-25 bubble across the league. Rosenzweig took nearly half a second off of her 100-meter hurdles (15.27 seconds) for seventh on Friday, 26th in the MAC; Creasey shaved a tenth from her season-best 800-meter in 2:13.78 for a ninth-place finish at Michigan, 24th in the MAC.

Jada Pride broke the 16-second threshold for the first time this season in the 100 hurdles as well, 15.85, to finish 10th.

The 2025 MAC Outdoor Championships are on deck for Central Michigan Track & Field at Ohio, May 15-17.
