Nine Chippewas Earn Athlon Magazine Preseason All-MAC Honors

Linebacker Jordan Kwiatkowski, defensive lineman Michael Heldman, and linebacker Dakota Cochran earn First Team honors.
MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich.—Nine Central Michigan football players were named to the Athlon Magazine preseason All-Mid-American Conference Football team. Details are available in the Athlon preseason college football magazine and at this link.
Earning First Team honors were senior linebacker Jordan Kwiatkowski, senior defensive lineman Michael Heldman, and senior linebacker Dakota Cochran. Junior offensive lineman Brady Ploucha was a Second Team recipient, Third Team honorees were junior wide receiver Tyson Davis, junior defensive lineman Kade Kostus, and senior defensive back Caleb Spann. Fourth Team picks were sophomore running back Trey Cornist and senior defensive back Elijah Rikard.
Central Michigan opens its 2025 football season at San Jose State on Friday, August 29. The Chippewas will host five home games, including four on Saturdays and play seven in-state games, including at Michigan (Sept. 13) and at Western Michigan (Nov. 1).

For example, if a season ticketholder has purchased four season tickets, they can receive up to four tickets to the Western game. Tickets for Central Michigan's 2025 non-conference games, including the Saturday, Sept. 13 contest at Michigan are also on sale. Tickets are $60.00 each for CMU's game at Michigan, $30.00 for the San Jose State game, and $20 for the Pittsburgh game. Tickets for these three games can be purchased online at www.cmuchippewas.com or by calling the Chippewa Athletic Fund at (989) 774-6680.
The 2025 Mid-American Conference Football Media Day is scheduled for Thursday, July 24 at Ford Field in Detroit, Mich. Additional details will be available at a later date.
Central Michigan will begin its preseason practice schedule in late July.
