MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. – The Central Michigan women's golf team opens the 2025-26 season as it has the last four, at the A-Ga-Ming Invitational at A-Ga-Ming Golf Resort in Kewadin, just north of Traverse City.
The Chippewas are the host school in the 12-team field at the annual 54-hole, Labor Day Weekend tournament. The event begins an 11-tournament 2025-26 season that culminates in April with the Mid-American Conference Championship at Firestone Country Club in Kent, Ohio.
"We are eager to get started and very excited about the schedule," fourth-year CMU coach Ryan Williams said. "Hosting at A-Ga-Ming is a great way to kick it off; the venue is awesome and the event is always a great test to start the year."
Among the tournaments on the Chippewas' schedule is the Canadian Collegiate Invitational at Beacon Hall Golf Club in Aurora, Ont. along with tournaments at Notre Dame and on the Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail in Alabama, a trip to Arizona, and the Chippewas' second annual Motor City Matchup, co-hosted with the CMU men's team, at Birmingham Country Club.
"We are honored to have been asked to play in the first Canadian Collegiate Women's Invitational," Williams said. "that will be the strongest field that we have ever played in as a program. Wrapping up the fall at Birmingham Country Club in the Motor City Matchup along with our men's team will be special."
The Chippewas return four of five starters including sophomore Ella Zanatta, who last season earned averaged a team-best 76.04 while earning Second Team All-MAC honors, earned medalist honors at one tournament and tied for first (before losing in a playoff) in another, and was CMU's top finisher in five of its 11 tournaments.
