MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. – Central Michigan men's golf coach Kevin Jennings has announced that Keith Hunter and Philippe Yturralde will serve as team co-captains for the 2025-26 season.
Hunter is a senior from New Hamburg, Ont. In his second season with the Chippewas, while Yturralde is a redshirt junior from La Mesa, Calif. in his fourth year with the program.
"They are very intelligent, wise, hardworking young men who lead by example," said Jennings, who is in his fourth year heading the program, which was resurrected after a 37-year hiatus in 2023-24. "They have embraced what we are building and have benefitted as contributing student-athletes and solid members of the student body.
"We are both blessed and favored having them as Chippewas."
Yturralde, who redshirted last season, holds the program 18-hole record (66) and has the second-lowest career 18-hole average (74.50) in the four-year history of the program; Hunter averaged 77.26 last season, his first as a Chippewa.
"Philippe has made wonderful strides with his game and as an individual and Keith has stepped into his senior year with a heightened level of maturity and wisdom in regards to his game and his individual growth," Jenning said. "I am very happy and proud of these young men."
The Chippewas open the season with the Joe Feaganes Invitational beginning on Monday, Sept. 8, in Huntington, W. Va.
