MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich.—Central Michigan's Motor City MACtion football game on Wednesday, Nov. 4 vs. Eastern Michigan is scheduled to kickoff at 7:30 p.m. ET at Ford Field in Detroit, the two schools and Mid-American Conference announced on Monday afternoon. The contest will be nationally televised on ESPN2.
Not only are the two schools competing on the field, but also in a Fan Challenge. CMU President Neil MacKinnon invited Chippewas fans to show their support for their favorite team by liking, sharing, and commenting on the team's social media channels. Fans will also be able to show their support by purchasing tickets to attend the game, or by purchasing and donating tickets to be distributed to Detroit-area youth, first responders, and nonprofit organizations. Points will also be awarded for the school that donates the most food through the Mid-American Conference's annual Canned Food Drive. Collection bins will be placed across the Central Michigan (Mount Pleasant and Detroit locations) and Eastern Michigan campuses for donations. DONATE HERE. In addition, chefs from each university will go toe-to-toe in a MACtion cook-off, with the winning dishes scoring points for their university. And finally, on game day, fans can score points for their team by wearing team colors and cheering loudly and proudly during the game.

The 2026 meeting marks the first of two scheduled games at Ford Field, with Eastern Michigan serving as the home team in 2026 and Central MMoichigan in 2027.
Central Michigan has enjoyed a rich tradition at Ford Field. The venue serves as Central Michigan's "Home Away From Home" as the Chippewas played their 11th all-time game in the stadium against Northwestern in the 2025 GameAbove Sports Bowl on December 26 before a crowd of nearly 28,000. Those games at Ford Field include six bowl contests, four MAC Championship games, and one regular season matchup.
The football series between Central Michigan and Eastern Michigan is the longest running in the MAC at 103 games. It also is the second-longest running series within the state of Michigan, trailing only the Michigan-Michigan State one, which has been played 118 times. Central Michigan holds a 65-32-6 record versus the Eagles dating back to the first game in the series on Nov. 1, 1902.
Four games remain for Central Michigan: vs. Eastern Michigan at Ford Field on Nov. 4 (7:30 p.m.), home vs. Sacramento State (Nov. 11), at Buffalo (Nov. 18), and at Ball State (Nov. 28).
