EVANSTON, Ill. — Central Michigan Lacrosse concluded a weekend trip around Lake Michigan with a 25-2 loss at No. 2 Northwestern Sunday afternoon.
Â
The Chippewas visit Cincinnati Friday (Feb. 20, 4 p.m. ET) as the fourth of seven straight road games to open the season.
Â
Central Michigan produced 12 on-target attempts on the nationally contending Wildcats, with goals by Mia Bradley (Orchard Park, N.Y. / Orchard Park) and Lili Sorenson (Kildeer, Ill. / Stevenson).
Â
Sorenson's goal was the first of her career, doing so in the Illinois-native's back yard, and registered an assist for Anna Farrar (Milton, Ga. / Cambridge).
Â
Freshman goalie Abby Schroer (Frisco, Texas / Memorial) tallied eight saves in the latter 32-plus minutes of the contest after senior captain Leila Kahler (Spring Lake, Mich. / Spring Lake) took the brunt of the Northwestern onslaught in the first half. Two of Schroer's 10 goals allowed were in advantage situations for the Wildcats.

Â
CMU posted a strong 11-of-12 in clear attempts, completing its last nine since the five-minute mark of the first quarter.
Â
Chippewa Lacrosse has four more road bouts before it opens up the CMU Lacrosse Complex and the Mid-American Conference schedule March 14 against Robert Morris.
