Six Chippewa Wrestlers Earn Academic All-MAC Honors

MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. -- Six Central Michigan wrestlers have been named to the Academic All-Mid-American Conference Team.

Chandler Amaker, Cody Brenner, Nick Blackburn, Luke Cochran, Adrien Cramer and Jimmy Nugent are the Chippewas on the 59-member squad.

It marks the second consecutive season that Amaker, Cochran and Cramer have earned a spot on the team. It is also the second time that Nugent, who redshirted in 2024-25, has been so honored.

The Chippewas on the team with their academic year, hometown, major and grade point average: Amaker, redshirt senior, public administration, 3.66; Blackburn, sophomore, marketing, 3.76; Brenner, redshirt senior, mechanical engineering, 3.33; Cochran, redshirt sophomore, exercise science, 3.68; Cramer, redshirt senior, master's of business administration, 3.50; Nugent, redshirt junior, information systems, 3.29.

In order to be eligible for the MAC All-Academic Team, a wrestler must carry a 3.20 cumulative grade point average and have participated in at least 50 percent of his team's scheduled dual meets and tournaments.
First-year student-athletes and transfers in his first year of residence are not eligible for the award.
