CLEVELAND — The Mid-American Conference announced senior Demetria Prewitt (Madison, Wis. / La Follette) of Central Michigan Women's Basketball as a member of the Academic All-MAC team Thursday morning.
Prewitt was an active member of the rotation in 2025-26, starting 16 games while appearing in all 30 as CMU posted an 18-12 overall record, 12-6 in the MAC en route to the league's fourth seed in the conference championship tournament—a second consecutive improved season under Head Coach Kristin Haynie.
The second-year Chippewa holds a cumulative grade-point average of 3.33 after two years at Kirkwood Community College, where she won a NJCAA II national title as a sophomore. Prewitt played in 60 games in the Maroon & Gold with 29 starts, averaging 7.5 points (50.5 percent shooting) and 4.1 rebounds over 22.7 minutes per game as a senior.
The Academic All-MAC honor is for a student-athlete who has excelled in athletics and academics. To qualify, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.20 cumulative GPA and have participated in at least 50 percent of the contests for that sport and not be a first-year member (freshman or transfer) of their respective program.
