Football Kickoff Times and Designations Announced

Kickoff times and television information are announced for five games; kickoff for the season opener at New Mexico (Sept. 5) is at 10 p.m. ET/8 p.m. MT on FS1; the Miami, Fla. contest (Sept. 26) is set for 6:30 p.m. ET on The CW; home games vs. Colgate (Sept. 12) and Wyoming (Sept. 19) are both set for 1 p.m. on ESPN+.
MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich.—Kickoff times and television designations for five 2026 Central Michigan football games were announced by the Mid-American Conference on Wednesday afternoon. Additional kickoff times and television details will be announced later.
For the second straight year, Central Michigan will open its season with a late-night road game on national television. The team will play at New Mexico on Saturday, Sept. 5, at 10 p.m. ET/8 p.m. MT. The contest will be televised on FS1. Last year, the Chippewas opened with a late-night nationally televised contest at San Jose State, a 16-14 victory.
Central Michigan returns home to Kelly/Shorts Stadium to play back-to-back non-conference games. The home opener vs. Colgate (Saturday, Sept. 12) and third game vs. Wyoming (Saturday, Sept. 19) are both scheduled for 1 p.m.
After the home games, the Chippewas travel south to play at 2025 national runner-up Miami, Fla., on Saturday, Sept. 26. Kickoff is set for 6:30 p.m. ET on The CW.
In addition, the Chippewas will play three straight national television games as part of the league's MACtion package. All three games will be played at either 7 or 7:30 p.m. ET. CMU's game at Ford Field in Detroit vs. Eastern Michigan is on Wednesday, Nov. 4 and will be broadcast on ESPN2, ESPNU, or CBS Sports Network. CMU will host new MAC member Sacramento State on Wednesday, Nov. 11. This game will also air on ESPN2, ESPNU, or CBS Sports Network. The Chippewas will play at Buffalo on Wednesday, Nov. 18, on either ESPNU or CBS Sports Network.
Central Michigan's final regular season contest at Ball State on Saturday, Nov. 28 is scheduled to kickoff at noon.
