Ten Chippewas Earn Phil Steele Magazine Preseason All-MAC Honors

Wide receiver Langston Lewis is a Second Team honoree.
MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich.—Ten Central Michigan football players were named to the Phil Steele Magazine preseason All-Mid-American Conference Football team. Phil Steele Magazine should be on newsstands in the next few weeks.
Earning Second Team honors was senior wide receiver Langston Lewis. Third Team honorees were junior offensive lineman Jacob Russell, junior offensive lineman Jacob Booth, sophomore defensive end JJ Douglas, and junior cornerback Jaion Jackson.
Fourth Team members included junior running back Vaughn Blue, senior offensive lineman Martin Koivisto, junior defensive end Korver Demma, junior linebacker Xavier White, and junior punter Declan Duley.
Central Michigan opens its 2026 football season at New Mexico on Saturday, Sept. 5 at 10 p.m. ET/8 p.m. MT. The Chippewas will host six home games, including five on Saturdays in September and October.
The 2026 Mid-American Conference Football Media Day is scheduled for Wednesday, July 22 at Ford Field in Detroit, Mich. Additional details will be available at a later date. Preseason practice will begin in early August.
