Eleven Chippewas Earn Athlon Magazine Preseason All-MAC Honors

Wide receiver Langston Lewis is a First Team honoree, while offensive lineman Jacob Russell, defensive lineman Korver Demma, and cornerback Jaion Jackson earn Second Team honors.
MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich.—Eleven Central Michigan football players were named to the Athlon Sports Magazine preseason All-Mid-American Conference Football team. Athlon Magazine should be on newsstands this week. The Athlon Sports MAC all-conference team is posted at this link.
Earning First Team honors was senior wide receiver Langston Lewis. Second Team honorees were junior offensive lineman Jacob Russell, junior defensive end Korver Demma, and junior cornerback Jaion Jackson.
Third Team members included junior running back Vaughn Blue and junior offensive lineman Jacob Booth.
Fourth Team members included sophomore running back Brock Townsend, senior offensive lineman Martin Koivisto, sophomore defensive lineman Quavion Bird, junior linebacker Xavier White, and junior punter Declan Duley.
Central Michigan opens its 2026 football season at New Mexico on Saturday, Sept. 5 at 10 p.m. ET/8 p.m. MT. The Chippewas will host six home games, including five on Saturdays in September and October.
The 2026 Mid-American Conference Football Media Day is scheduled for Wednesday, July 22 at Ford Field in Detroit, Mich. Additional details will be available at a later date. Preseason practice will begin in early August.
