Two Chippewas Earn Lindy's Preseason All-MAC Honors

Running back Brock Townsend and wide receiver Langston Lewis are Second Team honorees; Lewis has the MAC’s “Best Hands.”
MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich.—Two Central Michigan football players were named to the Lindy's Magazine preseason All-Mid-American Conference Football team.
Earning Second Team honors were junior running back Brock Townsend and senior wide receiver Langston Lewis. Lewis was also named the MAC's player with the "best hands."
Central Michigan will enter the 2026 season with high expectations. Preseason magazines have picked the Chippewas to finish somewhere between the No. 3 and No. 6 spots in the 13-team MAC standings. All the publications have CMU listed as "bowl bound." Here is a look at where each preseason publication picked the Chippewas to finish:
Athlon Magazine—3rd place
Lindy's Magazine—4th place
The Sporting News—5th place
Phil Steele Magazine—6th place
Central Michigan opens its 2026 football season at New Mexico on Saturday, Sept. 5 at 10 p.m. ET/8 p.m. MT. The Chippewas will host six home games, including five on Saturdays in September and October.
The 2026 Mid-American Conference Football Media Day is scheduled for Wednesday, July 22 at Ford Field in Detroit, Mich. Preseason practice will begin in early August.
