DETROIT, Mich.—The spotlight is back on Central Michigan Football as the Chippewas travel to Detroit to participate in the 2026 Mid-American Conference Football Kickoff event Tuesday and Wednesday at Ford Field. The Chippewas joined the desk of the 2026 MAC Football Kickoff Show on ESPN+ from the upper concourse of Ford Field to set the tone for the upcoming season.
Central Michigan Football took on a full slate of media at Ford Field, providing content for the Mid-American Conference, along with interviews with multiple media outlets from across the state of Michigan.
Before Commissioner Steinbrecher opened Wednesday's action, Voice of the Chippewas Adam Jaksa offered Coach Drinkall, Jackson and Lewis the chance to limber up their media muscles for the afternoon ahead.
Tuesday night, the Chippewas made their way to Five Iron Golf in downtown to battle the Western Michigan delegates in EA Sports College Football 27 and try their hands at a golf simulator.
Jackson and Lewis took center stage Tuesday afternoon upon arrival to the Renaissance Center in downtown Detroit for a content shoot for the Mid-American Conference, officially kicking off the Chippewas' slate in the Motor City.
The Mid-American Conference started the conversation Tuesday morning with the announcement of the 2026 Preseason Coaches Poll. Central Michigan was predicted to finish fifth in 2026 by the league's coaches.
