Football Schedules Two Games for 2028 Season: at Michigan, at Tennessee

MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich.—Central Michigan Football has scheduled two road non-conference games for the 2028 season: at Michigan on Saturday, Sept. 2 and at Tennessee on Saturday, Sept. 9, Zyzelewski Family Vice President/Director of Athletics Amy Folan announced Friday morning.

With the addition of those two games, the Chippewas will play three straight road games to open the 2028 season. Central Michigan is also scheduled to play at Troy on Saturday, September 16, 2028.

Central Michigan plays Michigan for the sixth time in school history as the two teams previously met in 2025. The Chippewas will play Tennessee for the first time in school history.

The Chippewas are also scheduled to play at Michigan on August 30, 2031.

Central Michigan opens its 2026 football season at New Mexico on Saturday, Sept. 5 in Albuquerque. Kickoff is at 10 p.m. ET/8 p.m. MT on FSN1.
