Six Chippewas Named to Pro Football Network Preseason All-MAC Team

Defensive back Donavan Philord is named to First Team.
MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich.— Six Central Michigan football players were named to the Pro Football Network preseason All-Mid-American Conference Football team.
Earning First Team honors was defensive back Donavan Philord, while Second Team honorees were wide receiver Langston Lewis, offensive lineman Jacob Booth, and defensive back Justin Taylor. Running back Jayden Clerveaux and offensive lineman Brady Ploucha were both named to the Third Team.
Central Michigan will enter the 2026 season with high expectations. Preseason magazines have picked the Chippewas to finish somewhere between the No. 3 and No. 6 spots in the 13-team MAC standings. MAC coaches picked the Chippewas to finish in fifth place in its annual preseason coaches' poll announced on July 21. All the publications have CMU listed as "bowl bound." Here is a look at where each preseason publication picked the Chippewas to finish:

Central Michigan opens its 2026 football season at New Mexico on Saturday, Sept. 5 at 10 p.m. ET/8 p.m. MT. The Chippewas will host six home games, including five on Saturdays in September and October.
Season tickets can be purchased or renewed online at Ticket Central at www.cmuchippewas.com at this link, by calling the CMU Ticket Office at (989) 774-3045 or by e-mail at ticketcentral@cmich.edu. Advance single-game tickets are also now available. It is less expensive to purchase single game tickets in advance as ticket prices rise on game day.
