Men's Golf Opens Season In West Virginia Sept. 14-15

MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. – The Central Michigan men's golf team is set to open the 2026-27 season with a trip to Huntington, W. Va. for the Joe Feaganes Marshall Invitational on Sept. 14-15.
The event is the first of 11 the Chippewas are scheduled to play in 2026-27.
They are slated to host two events: The first is the annual Motor City Matchup in which they team up with the CMU women's team at Birmingham Country Club in mid-October; the second is the Pathway to Progression Collegiate Invitational in Napa, Calif. in March.
The Pathway to Progression Collegiate Invitational, formerly known as the Bridgestone Collegiate Invitational, is part of the PGA Tour's Pathway to Progression, an initiative launched in 2023 to identify, support and accelerate the careers of junior and collegiate golfers from underrepresented communities.
The Chippewas hosted their first BCI in 2024 and last season the field comprised 13 NCAA Division I teams including three HBCU programs along with one of the premier collegiate teams in Japan. A field with a similar makeup is expected for the 2027 version.
The fall portion of the Chippewas' schedule includes stroke-play tournaments in Muncie, Ind. (hosted by Ball State), and Kemper, Ill. (Belmont).
The Chippewas will kick off the spring portion of the season at the Palmas del Mar Collegiate in Puerto Rico in mid-February and then will make partake in tournaments hosted by Ball State, Missouri, Ohio State and Purdue before the Mid-American Conference Championships at Talis Park Golf Club in Naples, Fla. in late April/early May.
