Senior keeper collects seven saves in back-to-back matches
MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. — Central Michigan Soccer ceded a 1-0 result to Bowling Green Saturday afternoon at the CMU Soccer Complex.

The Chippewas head out to face Ohio Thursday afternoon (Oct. 1; 4 p.m. ET) before their return to Mount Pleasant the following Sunday (Oct. 4; 1 p.m. ET). CMU will welcome back over 20 alumni as it hosts Miami (OH) for its alumni game.

Central Michigan brought tempo early in the match to collect a pair of corner opportunities in the first and seventh minutes, but the tide quickly swung toward the Falcons as BGSU possessed the ball for over 30 of the first 45 minutes, over 20 ahead of the midline.

"They're a good team," Head Coach James DeCosemo said, "so we did something a little different to start which threw them a little bit. They adjusted really well, changed some things and we weren't able to adapt."

Senior Jadia Kershaw (Lewis Center, Ohio / Olentangy Orange) stood in for five of her seven saves in the opening half.

Sunday's seven saves at Eastern Michigan set a career mark in conference matches, tied already the next time out.

"I think she's conceded more goals than she deserves this season; credit to her because she comes under a lot of pressure, things in front of her have to get better. Every time she's asked to make a save, she makes a save."

The Falcons collected their winner in the 56th minute after a mess in the box leaked to the 18' for an open attempt.
