A defensive end at CMU from 2012-2015, Serpa joined the CMU football coaching staff in 2017 as a defensive graduate assistant.
He played in 47 games for the Chippewas, making 119 tackles (79 solo), including 11 sacks and 30 tackles for a loss. Serpa was a Second-Team All-Mid-American Conference selection in 2015.
