He is also a key contributor in all pass game research.
McDaniels joins the Chippewas after serving the last three years at Georgetown under head coach Rob Sgarlata as Pass Game Coordinator, Quarterbacks and Tight Ends coach. He served in a different role each year on staff. In 2024 as Pass Game Coordinator/Quarterbacks Coach/Recruiting Coordinator, he helped Georgetown earn its most NCAA Division I wins in a two-year span since the 2011-12 seasons. As Quarterbacks Coach in 2023, he helped Georgetown more than double its win total, helped the Hoyas win their biggest game in program history over No. 14 Fordham, and helped Georgetown win its most Patriot League games since 2018. As Tight Ends Coach in 2022, he played a key role in recruiting, landing 2023 Phil-Steele Freshman All-American, Isaiah Grimes.
A Fairfax County, Va. native, McDaniels played quarterback at his alma mater West Alabama, where he earned a bachelor's degree in Business Administration in 2020. He started 47 games in his collegiate career at both West Alabama and Delaware State and threw for nearly 10,000 yards and 90 touchdowns. He was a three-time team captain, played for three different coaching staffs and mastered three different offensive systems while leading West Alabama to a No. 6 national ranking and top-5 offensive ranking. McDaniels also earned Academic All-America honors.
Following his playing career, he served a brief stint as a graduate assistant at West Alabama in the winter of 2021.
